Wing Chun Bing Fa Kung Fu Academy address to all students

Training as normal until guided otherwise.

Be diligent with your hygiene practice and considerate to others.

There is a lot of information circulating about the COVID-19 (Corona) Virus, some more factual and helpful than others. At WCBFKFA we are taking this situation seriously and taking steps to ensure we continue to support our community members and their families to be proactive about their own health.

At this time classes will run as normal.

As you are all aware, the National and State Governments, and Health Departments, have been advising action to protect ourselves against infection. This includes personal hygiene of washing hands, cleanliness and awareness for everyone. We are following the best practices, as follows:

HAND CARE

If you have your own hand sanitizer, please carry it in your bag.

1. It is compulsory for everyone to wash their hands properly after arrival at the kwoon (training hall) and prior to training and after.

2. Wash hands often with soap and running water, for at least 20 seconds. Dry with the hand dryer.

3. Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow.

4. Dispose of any tissues used immediately.

5. Try not to touch your eyes, nose or mouth.

6. Bring your own towel and water bottle. Do not share with others.

7. Wash your hands after training and before you leave the Kwoon (training hall).

8. Please wash your uniform regularly as you do normally.

9. We suggest following best practice and avoid shaking hands, continue the Wing Chun courtesy of the left hand fist and right hand open bow.

If you all follow these basic steps, we will keep the training hall environment as safe as possible.

TOILETS

The toilets are regularly sanitized with recommended products and checked during the time the training hall is in operation. Always wash hands after using the toilets.

IMPORTANT

If any member, student or parent is feeling unwell please DO NOT COME to the kwoon. Do not take the chance of spreading what could be a very bad condition. If you are unsure, it’s best to stay at home, rest and heal.

RECENT TRAVEL

As of March 15th anyone returning from overseas travel must self-quarantine and should not attend the training hall for 14 days regardless of how they feel.

If you have returned from international travel and begin to feel unwell and develop a fever or shortness of breath, a cough or respiratory illness, you should call the dedicated hotline on ‪1800 675 398‬ for advice.

IMMUNITY

EAT WELL – Eat healthy food and avoid toxins; plenty of veggies and fruit and avoid processed sugar. High fibre foods promote good gut health which in strengthens immunity.

DRINK WELL – Drink at least two litres of water a day: a flushed body is a healthy body. Drink alcohol in moderation. Going hard is hard on your immune system. Alcohol disrupts the gut barrier, allowing more bacteria to pass into the blood.

MOVE WELL – exercise is important for all aspects of our health. Get the heartbeat going, breathe deeply: it clears your passages and lungs of bacteria, wards off chronic illness and boosts white blood cells.

SLEEP WELL – Try to get lots of sleep & rest, this is so important for a healthy immune system. Go to bed earlier, people who sleep too little are more prone to illness.

THINK WELL – Stress less; spend some time meditating or get out for a walk. High cortisol levels are a sure way to compromise your immune system. Exercise is good for stress. This is not the time to stop training.

The best thing you can do for yourself and your family is keep yourself healthy and boost your immune system by following the basic pillars of health.

ALL CARE TAKEN

All care is being taken by Wing Chun Bing Fa Kung Fu Academy to ensure that any risk of infection to those attending is reduced, please be diligent with your hygiene. We have a variety of training methods that can be run that involves contact and non contact.

We are taking advice from the authorities and implementing policies as early as possible.

Failure to comply with these reasonable requests will result in being asked to go home and seek medical advice. We are looking forward to having a safe period for all while this health risk is in the community.

Be mindful, look after and respect each other. A strong connection with others is fundamental for our health. Let’s look out for each other. This is the Wing Chun Bing Fa Kung Fu Academy Way.
